Join us as a volunteer and help support people who have experienced domestic abuse and sexual violence in Cornwall, Devon and Wiltshire.

Fundraising and Events Volunteers

We are looking for Fundraising Volunteers to organise events, collect donations, connect with local businesses, and raise awareness.

This is a flexible role and there is no minimum time commitment. Training is provided.

The next training day for fundraising volunteers will be in October 2019.

Triage Volunteers – Plymouth

We need volunteers to provide a pro-active triage service to people affected by sexual violence and sexual abuse.

This role is based in our Plymouth office alongside our Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) Team.

We are not currently seeking applications but do hold a waiting list.

Office Volunteers – Cornwall

If you have administration skills and other office-based skills, we are looking for Admin Volunteers in Threemilestone, Truro.

Training is provided (two days) and we ask for a minimum commitment of five hours per week.

The next training for Admin Volunteers is in January 2020.

Helpline Volunteers – Cornwall

Our crisis response helpline in Cornwall is covered by staff and volunteers, 09:00-17:00, Mondays to Fridays.

The minimum volunteer commitment is five hours per week as well as seven days of training (one day per week for seven weeks).

Applications are now open to commence training in April 2020.

Please note that if you have been a client for any of First Light services, we ask that you have been out of service for at least 12 months before joining us as a volunteer. We also require all volunteers to provide two references and undertake an enhanced DBS check.
