£10,000 grant to support hidden victims of sexual violence in Swindon and Wiltshire – National Benevolent Charity

We would like to thank the National Benevolent Charity for their £10,000 grant which will help First Light to reach more people who have been victim of rape or sexual assault across Swindon and Wiltshire.

Through outreach it will increase knowledge of and access to the Crisis Team at the Sexual Assault Referral Centre, supporting more people to disclose their experience and obtain specialist support.

Quote from Ali Russell, Chief Executive of the National Benevolent Charity:

“Our Mission is to provide financial support to people experiencing poverty at a time of crisis. We are only too aware that poverty increases the risk of sexual violence and that an experience of sexual violence increases the risk of poverty. Therefore, we are delighted to award a grant of £10,000 to First Light South West to extend their crisis work with the hidden victims of sexual violence in Swindon and Wiltshire.”
