Our funders and partners

Our lifesaving work supporting thousands of people would not be possible without our amazing funders, donors and partners, who provide expert knowledge and support, as well as vital funding.

Funders

We’re independent of, but funded by, a number of service commissioners including:
Safer Cornwall: commissions Safer Futures, the Integrated Domestic Abuse & Sexual Violence Advice & Recovery service for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly
Safer Plymouth: funds therapeutic services for people who have experienced sexual violence in Plymouth.
NHS England: contracts the Sexual Assault Referral Centre and associated crisis services, and funds therapeutic services for people who have experienced sexual violence across Devon.
Office Police & Crime Commissioner Wiltshire & Swindon: funds our Crisis Advocacy service at the Sexual Assault Referral Centre
Office Police & Crime Commissioner Devon & Cornwall: commissions the Sexual Violence Advisory Service for Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly
NHS Devon Integrated Care Board: contribute to our Therapy Centre and office rent in Plymouth.

Safe Spaces England & Wales: commission First Light the national Safe Spaces service, supporting individuals affected by church related abuse and violence.

Partners

Our partners include:
Here are some examples of the ways we’re working with them to deliver a better service:
Barnardo’s: prevention education and recovery support for domestic abuse
We deliver our Safer Futures service alongside charity partners Barnardo’s. This partnership provides healthy relationship education in schools, trains professionals in identifying abuse and delivers education based recovery programmes for adults and children effected by domestic abuse that build self-worth and self-esteem.
Intercom Trust: Supporting the LGBTQ+ community
The Intercom Trust is working together with Torbay Domestic Abuse Service (TDAS) in Devon and First Light in Cornwall to recruit two dedicated regional LGBT+ Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVAs) who will lead on the Safer Rainbow Project. These IDVAs will cater solely for the needs of LGBTQ+ service users, with specific training and background working within this community.
Gloucestershire Health & Care NHS Trust: Clinical expertise
Our seven year partnership with Gloucestershire Health & Care NHS Trust provides clinical expertise to the crisis team at the Swindon & Wiltshire Sexual Assault Referral Centre.
