Safe Spaces Experts with Lived Experience Panel

The Safe Spaces Experts with Lived Experience Panel is a voluntary, unpaid opportunity for people who have used First Light’s Safe Spaces service.

We are inviting individuals with lived experience of the service to join this panel and help shape its future.

Panel members meet online approximately four times a year to review service updates, share feedback, and contribute insight that helps strengthen and improve the support we provide.

This is an opportunity to use your experience and perspective to influence how the service develops. By joining the panel, you will help us understand what is working well, where improvements can be made, and how we can continue to deliver support that is safe, responsive, and centred on survivors’ needs.

Additional meetings may be arranged where needed, depending on service developments and priorities.

First Light is committed to safeguarding and the wellbeing of everyone who engages with our services. Participation in the panel is entirely voluntary, and members are free to step back at any time.

Panel members will not be asked to share personal or detailed accounts of their experiences. Instead, they are invited to contribute insight informed by their lived experience in a way that feels safe and comfortable for them.

We recognise that reflecting on experiences can still be sensitive, and appropriate support will be available throughout participation if needed. Clear boundaries will be maintained at all times, with a focus on creating a safe, respectful and supportive environment.
