We are currently aware of a new feature in the latest iOS update for iPhone: Live Voicemail.
This feature provides an AI-generated transcript of any voicemail left on your phone, which will now display on your notification screen.
However, the AI transcript doesn’t always translate perfectly, and messages can sometimes differ from the original voicemail. Additionally, for privacy and safety reasons, many people may not want a transcript displaying on their notification screen.
To address these concerns, we have provided a step-by-step guide on how to deactivate this feature on any device where you do not want it to be active.
To turn off Live Voicemail (transcripts for voicemails), follow these steps:
- Go to Settings
- Select Apps
- Click on Phone
- Scroll down to Live Voicemail
- Toggle the switch to off (it will turn from green to grey)
We have currently paused our teams from leaving voicemails, but will resume for anyone we cannot reach starting from 16/12/24.
To ensure discretion and clear transcription, our voicemails will now only contain the caller’s name, the service name (First Light, Safer Futures, Safe Spaces), and a concise message.
