About: Ahimsa, a Plymouth-based charity, has been delivering domestic abuse behaviour change work since 1990. As the only Respect-accredited provider in the South West peninsula, we work with people who cause harm in relationships while running a separate, parallel service for their partners and families — an integrated model that centres victim safety at every stage.
Our adult programme combines individual assessment and one-to-one work with group-based behaviour change work; our High Risk High Harm service provides intensive one-to-one work with the highest-risk individuals; and our Youth Service works with 16–25 year olds displaying harmful relationship behaviours.
If you’re worried about your own behaviour in a relationship, we offer a confidential, non-judgmental space to understand it and make change. We approach this work with compassion and humanity while maintaining accountability — helping people take responsibility for and change their actions, not excusing them.
