We wanted to tell you about a brilliant new campaign that has been created to help support UK charities like First Light, in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic: The 2.6 Challenge.
Like us here at First Light, thousands of charities across the UK have had to cancel fundraising events. As a domestic abuse and sexual violence support charity we have also had an increase in demand on our services. You can help.
The 2.6 Challenge will begin on Sunday 26 April – what should have been the date of the 40th London Marathon, the world’s biggest one-day annual fundraising event.
No need to be a marathon runner to take part, this is a challenge for all ages and abilities. You can choose to walk, run or cycle 2.6 miles, juggle for 2.6 minutes, or even host online workouts with 26 friends. Whatever you can do, you can be part of it to help support First Light and help people affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence.
We can’t wait to see the imaginative and fun ways you come up with to join in on the 26th and stand with First Light!
Once you’re ready, remember to help to inspire the nation by sharing photos or videos of your challenge, tag your friends on social media and challenge them to join in too, making sure you use the official hashtag #TwoPointSixChallenge
